What is Partnership?Partnership, short for Employment Security Partnership, is a joint effort between CWA and AT&T Southeast to assist AT&T Southeast Employees covered under the Core collective bargaining agreement with career development, preparation and transitional services.
Who is eligible?All regular and regular part-time employees with at least six(6) months seniority who are covered under the Core Southeast Bargaining Agreement Article 24, UFO Addendum Article 9 and Utility OPS Article 9 are eligible to participate in the Partnership Program.
What does Partnership offer?

The Partnership program consists of several components:

  • Career Counseling and Assessment
    The Partnership Office offers all Southeast Core employees one career counseling session on company time per contract period. An additional session may be scheduled for any Core employee who has been declared surplus. The counseling session is tailored to each individual. The counselor will assist you in finding career opportunities, job interests, and career goals. You may also bring your resume to the session for advice. Follow up sessions on the employees own time is also available at no charge. To schedule a session, call HR ONEStop 1-888-722-1787 and say "Partnership"
     
  • Internal Job/Career Development Plan
    Once you have identified your job skills and interests, Partnership will assist your career development by making a plan, or if you are surplus, to train for another position if available.
     
  • Educational Assistance
    When your future career plans call for more schooling, Partnership offers classes to covered employees and tuition aid for classes offered in institutions of higher learning.

     

  • Correspondence & PC Course Program

The Correspondence/PC Course Program is administered through the Employment Security PARTNERSHIP.
 

Regular non-management employees with at least six months net credited service are eligible to participate in the Correspondence/PC Course Program.
 

Program participation exclusions are as follows: Temporary, Term, and Management employees are not eligible to participate.

The Correspondence/PC Course Program is designed for employees that desire to continue their personal and professional growth. The courses may place a high degree of demand on the participant, as a result participants are urged to carefully consider the obligation required before registering. Systematic study, conscientious application, and a high degree of self-discipline are the basic requirements of each course.
The Program offers courses in both book and CD formats. Course materials ranges from basic skills to highly technical. Courses are at no cost to the employee. Program benefits/specifications are as follows:
 

Acquisition of new skills and expansion of incumbent skills via self-paced home study learning.
 

The student can pursue self-improvement without following the normal demands of full-time school
attendance.
 

Students are allowed 6 months to complete each course.
 

Upon our receipt of notification of completion, the course will be added to your AT&T Training history.

Much time, effort and expense are involved in the administration of each Correspondence/PC course. Thus, eligible employees are encouraged to participate
 

Registration is limited to 2 courses per application.
 

Failure to send in a completion form within 6 months of enrollment may negatively impact the
employee’s ability to register for subsequent courses.

What classes are offered?

The following Customized Courses are currently being offered on a virtual learning basis only.

  • Network+ - 40 Class Hours - Equips the student with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for entry level networking careers. This course is a hands-on, career-oriented e-learning solution that emphasizes practical experience. It is a blended curriculum with both online and classroom learning. Network+ aims to develop an in-depth understanding of networking principles as well as the tools and configurations required to design a network. Various types of hands-on labs provide practical experience, including procedural and troubleshooting labs, skills integration challenges, and model building. All hands-on labs in the course can be completed via PacketTracer. Most chapters include Packet Tracer-based skills integration challenges that are cumulative throughout the course.
     
  • TKT II - 40 Class Hours - The TKT II course is designed to prepare the student for the TKT II exam. The TKT II is designed to measure an individual's knowledge of technical concepts required for certain technical jobs in AT&T. This course provides a basic understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals, computer hardware/software, and digital technologies as they apply to the telecommunications industry. Upon completion of the course students will be able to analyze AC and DC electrical series and parallel circuits and the electrical and electronic components they are comprised of. Fundamentals of digital communications are covered, including analog to digital conversion, line coding, framing modulation, multiplexing, transmission media, as well as the T-Carrier and SONET data rates. Digital and analog test instruments and the related measuring procedures will be introduced as well as the electrical safety rules to be followed. Binary numbering system and principles of computer architecture are presented. The course also provides a review of mathematic operations commonly used for basic electricity and electronics including Scientific notation and the use of exponents, multipliers, and electrical prefixes.
     
  • Wireless Network Technician W/5G Intro - 30 Class Hours - Wireless communications technologies have been seamlessly integrated into many of our daily personal and professional activities. Using a remote-control device, accessing the internet, and interacting with our smart phone are all activities we are familiar with that use wireless technology. However, there is a plethora of other applications that also use wireless communications that we might not even be aware of. This course provides students with an introduction to the world of wireless communication technology that is impacting every sector of our interconnected world today. The fundamental knowledge of RF technology used in wireless communicationsand how intelligent information is communicated for specific applications along with system design components and their requirements is presented. Antenna theory, transmission lines, RF propagation, and modulation schemes are discussed. The course continues with an exploration of wireless solutions and standards used today in Personal, Local, Metropolitan, and Wide Area Networks. This includes solutions for both fixed wireless and mobile wireless applications. An in-depth look into Wi-Fi technology (802.11), the predominant technology used for Local Area Networks (LANs) is presented. The course also provides a comprehensive study of Wide Area Network technology including microwave and satellite solutions. More importantly, the course explores the word of mobile wireless with a focus on 4G/LTE and 5G. This includes a discussion on the impact of 5G from both a technological and economic level. This course is a prerequisite for the 5G Technician course
